Figure Your Skin Out: A Simple Guide to Building the Right Routine
Define Your “Skintentions”
Hi! I’m Molly — a licensed Esthetician with 9 years of experience helping clients preserve the natural health and clarity of their skin. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed trying to build a skincare routine, you’re not alone — and you’re in the right place.
Think of this as your simple, no-BS guide to understanding what your skin actually needs, based on your lifestyle and goals.
Let’s talk about your “Skintentions” — a fun little word I came up with to describe the level of care and commitment you want to give your skin. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Whether you’re a total minimalist or a full-on glow-getter, your Skintention is valid.
Skintention Level 1: Basic Hygiene
If you just want to take care of yourself without diving too deep into skincare, this is your starting point. You're not trying to transform your skin — you just want to keep it clean, balanced, and happy. All you need are two essential products:
- Cleanser: Removes dirt, oil, makeup, and pollution.
- Moisturizer: Hydrates and smooths the surface for a fresh, healthy look.
This level is simple, sustainable, and perfect for anyone who wants to show up for their skin without making it complicated.
Skintention Level 2: Addressing Concerns
If you’re ready to see some real changes — like clearing breakouts, brightening dullness, or evening your skin tone — this level is for you. It’s about consistency, not perfection. At this stage, expect to use 6–8 targeted products:
- Toner
Each product has a role to play, and together they support your skin's health and transformation over time. There’s no “miracle in a bottle,” but this routine builds real, lasting results.
Skintention Level 3: Skincare as Self-Care
This is for the skincare lovers who treat their routine as a ritual. You’re not just treating skin concerns — you’re investing in yourself. You genuinely enjoy the process, and it shows. At this level, you’re using 8–12+ quality products and probably seeing an esthetician regularly. Your routine might include:
- An extra treatment cleanser
- Peel pads 2–3x per week
- At-home LED therapy
- Eye cream
- Face oils or treatment masks
- Weekly exfoliation or specialty serums
Your skin won’t be “perfect” every day (spoiler: no one’s is!), but your glow will be real — and people will notice.
So… What’s Your Skintention?
Whether you’re just getting started or you're deep in the world of peels and peptides — you belong here. Your skin doesn’t need a 12-step routine to be worthy of care. You just need clarity and a little guidance.
And that’s what I’m here for.
